I create purposeful brands for women in business so they can be recognized in luxury markets and build connection at every touchpoint.

Hey! I'm Lauren

Who doesn’t love a good trend? Whether it’s straight jeans replacing skinny jeans, fusion food (not sure how I feel about that one!), life is constantly shifting and so are trends in fashion, food, habits, and more.

The design world is no different. Since I started in design school, I’ve seen many trends come and go: grunge/vintage, flat infographics, neon colors, and more (some more cringeworthy than others).

When it comes to designing high end brands for my clients, though, I try to not get caught up in design trends, and here’s why:

Trends come and go

Trends are fleeting. It’s *so* easy to spot a script from the 2010s – just like seeing someone wearing a chevron “going out” top or a sock bun (iykyk!).

It’s my goal as a brand designer to create luxury brands that stand the test of time and build trust with their audience and clients. Rebranding every two years because your logo or colors are majorly out of style OR you see a new trend you want to try is confusing to your clients and is an unnecessary cost for you as a small business owner.

Brand design should be driven by your goals – not the latest trend

Your brand and web design should be created strategically with your long term goals and vision in mind. In the Lyra Studios brand strategy process, we do a deep dive into your brand and business to discover what’s driving you, what your goals are, who your ideal clients are, and more.

We take this info and create a timeless high end brand and web design that not only is tailored to your business, but one that resonates with your dream clients.

Now for some businesses, this MAY mean following a design trend if it makes sense for them and their ideal client and supports their business goals, but we don’t ever chase trends just for fun.

Luxury brands are timeless

If your goal is to build a luxury brand, avoid chasing trends. Luxury brands don’t necessarily all look the same but what luxury brands have in common is that they

  1. Have a strong foundation in strategy: Every design decision is calculated and supports your businesses goals.
  2. Luxury brands are distinctive. Contrary to popular belief, timeless brands don’t necessarily need to be super minimal or neutral. There are a wide range of vibrant brands that have stood the test of time.
  3. This almost goes without saying but of course, luxury brands have an amazing product and customer experience that goes beyond the branding aspect of things.

Design trends are always lots of fun to research and play with but remember: timeless, distinctive branding built on a foundation of strategy and research will beat trends any time!
